Originally from Stockholm, Caisa Sandgren integrated the Parisian preparatory school « Les Ateliers de Beaux-Arts » in 2013, in which she regularly worked with the artist Joël Trolliet. She joined « L’école Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris » in 2014. The exhibition for her bachelor degree in fine arts was held in the studio of professor and painter Dominique Gauthier. Currently preparing her masters degree, she’s had several exhibits in Paris, in particular at the Bertrand Grimont gallery and the Au Médicis gallery.
The theoretical work of Caisa Sandgren concerns the classic mind-body problem. Her ideas take form through drawing, sculpture and installation, often incorporating painting, metal, ceramics and fabric in the process. Her sculptures are a intimate take on the concept, with an intention to question the gap between the two components, to play with the middle-ground between the both.
Caisa Sandgren currently lives and works in Paris.
